PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical packet compression circuit capable of compressing optical packets with high time accuracy for constructing an optical packet network with high speed such as several hundreds Gbps.;SOLUTION: Optical pulses continuously generated by a clock generator 3001 and a laser oscillator 3002 are branched into N branches by an optical brancher 3003. On the other hand, input electrical signals #1-#N are mutually paralleled by serial/parallel conversion circuits to be temporarily stored in memories 3011. Contents in the memories 3012 are read out according to read signals from a clock signal control circuit 3019 and input to optical modulators 3004 through OR circuits 3017.
