PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce libraries of ribozyme or antisense RNA having diversity and obtain RNA useful for an antiviral agent, etc., by polymerizing ribonucleotide in the absence of a template or a primer and in the presence of a protein. ;SOLUTION: A ribozyme library or an antisense RNA library having diversity can be produced by polymerizing ribonucleotide in the absence of a template or a primer and in the presence of a protein composed of a heat-resistant DNA polymerase, etc., of a bacterium belonging to genus Thermococcus or genus Thermus under a neutral to weak alkaline condition at about 20-90C. An RNA such as an effective ribozyme or antisense RNA sufficiently able to cope with even a virus after transformed can simply and simultaneously be purified from these libraries, then the objective RNA useful as an antiviral agent, etc., inhibiting replication of the virus by subjecting to transfection to a virus infected cell.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
