STRUCTURE FOR MOUNTING SILL OF WINDOW SASH FOR TWO-BY- FOUR HOUSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of a stepped level at an entrance when using a structure for mounting the sill of a window sash for a two-by-four house.;SOLUTION: Floor lining 11 is stretched over floor joists and a floor finish 16 such as a carpet is placed over the floor lining 11. A mounting portion for the sill 1 of the window sash is set at a position of an opening where the floor lining 11 on the upper surface of a side joist 7 or an end joist is absent. The indoor side of the sill 1 is mounted to the mounting portion and an L-shaped attachment 17 for retaining the end of the floor finish 16 from below is fastened to the side joist 7 with screws 24 to prevent the end of the floor finish 16 from denting and forming a stepped level between a partition plate 6 which the indoor side of the sill 1 has and the end of the floor finish 16. Formation of stepped levels at the sill of the entrance at the opening is thus prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
