PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-cross-linked, non-halogenated, heat-resistant, flame- retardant resin composition which never produces an injurious halogen gas, when burned, and has high abrasion resistance and flame retardance required for insulated electric wires used in automobiles, household electric appliances, and the like, and to provide an insulated electric wire which uses the resin composition as a coating material.;SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition characterized by adding at least either of a liquid crystal polymer, a polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate and, if necessary, further a carboxylic acid-modified polymer to a polyolefin resin and further adding a metal hydroxide as a flame retardant to the mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
