Provided are: a flame-retardant resin composition containing polyethylene, an ethylene ethyl acrylate copolymer, an acid-modified polyethylene, a metal hydroxide, and a modified silicone having a functional group containing a carbon–carbon double bond at the terminal thereof, said flame-retardant resin composition having the content ratio for the polyethylene, ethylene ethyl acrylate copolymer, and acid-modified polyethylene and the content of the metal hydroxide and modified silicone being within a prescribed range; a flame-retardant heat shrink tube formed using said flame-retardant resin composition; and a flame-retardant insulated electrical wire having an insulation layer formed using said flame-retardant resin composition.
