PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freshness retaining agent for plant leaves capable of enduring for a long time use and a method of retaining freshness of plant leaves.;SOLUTION: This freshness retaining agent comprises a first liquid comprising water or a low concentration aqueous solution of a polyalcohol, e.g. aqueous solution of glycerin of 0-30 mass.%, and a second solution comprising undiluted solution or a high concentration aqueous solution of a compound having two or more alcoholic hydroxyl groups in the molecule, e.g. an aqueous solution of glycerin having concentration ≥50 mass.% or undiluted solution of the glycerin. The method of retaining freshness of the plant leaves comprises soaking cut leaves of natural plants in the first liquid and the second liquid in this order and then washing with water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
