PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which automatically updates the latest edition only by one-time selection of various publications of the latest edition.;SOLUTION: This system consists of a plurality of publication publishing servers which are connected to a network and can provide publications and publication information, a publication database server capable of distributing publications and publication information stored in publication databases and a plurality of clients who can access the publication database server and obtain desired publication and publication information. The publication database server stores publications selected by clients to a read database for every client, also enables the clients to access the read database and to list the publications stored in the read database, and can update the publications stored in the read database on the basis of the latest edition information and notify the updated publications when the publication information includes the latest edition information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
