PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scan images including a large-sized one and to output the scanned images to an external device as image data. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a light source 1, a light condensing part 2, a liquid crystal panel 3, a projecting system electric circuit 9 for driving so as to display the liquid crystal panel 3 by an image signal, a projecting lens 4 and a reflection mirror 11 for projecting the image displayed on the liquid crystal panel 3 to a screen 5 and displaying the image, an imaging device 7, an image pickup lens 8 for forming an image on the imaging device 7, and an image pickup circuit 10 for reproducing the detected signal from the imaging device 7 as an image signal, and the projecting system electric circuit 9 is provided with an original holding part 6 which is used also as a specified scanning pattern generating means and for holding the original 13 in front of the screen 5.
