PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of obtaining a SiC fiber reinforced SiC composite material having high density and excellent mechanical properties with one time processing by using a SiC fiber having heat resistance against a high temperature, applying a hot press method, which is a simple and inexpensive manufacturing process, and increasing a sintering temperature. SOLUTION: Slurry is prepared by mixing a powdery mixture obtained by adding oxide powder of one or more kinds of Al2 O3 , Y2 O3 , SiO2 and CaO as sintering assistants into SiC fine powder with a SiC precursor resin. After a high crystalline and near stoichiometric composition SiC fiber formed body is impregnated with the slurry, the impregnated SiC fiber formed body is hot- pressed under a pressure at =1,600 deg.C in the presence of the liquid phase.
