The novel monomers correspond to the formula: chemistry chemdraw filechemistry mol file;in which: ;Z represents H or CH₃ and X represents O or S, and ;Y is a 5- to 8-membered heterocycle consisting of hydrogen, carbon and sulphur atoms and at least two endocyclic sulphur atoms. ;Application: to the manufacture of waveguides, optical fibers and spectacle lenses.
