The present invention relates to the field of bio-technologies and environmental protection, and refers the cleaning of water, soil and other media polluted with petroleum products. The cleaning method of the present invention is carried out with a biological preparation that comprises a pool of yeast of the Candida maltosa genus from the strains deposited under No. VKPM Y-2256 and No. VKPM Y-2257. These strains may be present in the pool in any ratio but preferably in the ratio of 1:1.
