A method for cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and removal of mold and mildew on non-porous hard surfaces such as glass, glazed porcelain, metallic, ceramic tile, enamel, fiberglass and plastic utilizing an aqueous inhibiting composition. The composition comprises from 1.0 to 10.0 percent by weight of an aliphatic alcohol, and a glycol ether, in the absence of conventional antibacterial agents.
