A table accommodates the stack of material, which is cut by a knife. A beam is lowered onto the stack and a motor-driven saddle feeds it towards the knife. Saddle position is electrically indicated on a panel and corrected electronically, and a manually-operated rotary impulse emitter has a switch controlling an evaluation unit regulating the saddle drive. On correcting the position of the saddle (%), its travel speed and direction are indicated on the panel (11). Different speeds can be represented by numbers on the panel and in circular form. The emitter can work in several speed stages, typically eight in each direction, but only in three when operating automatically.
