The Ethiopian mustard seed oil with a low content of linolenic acid is not obtained naturally from plants but is produced by a bio-technological procedure. The scientific name of the seed is Brassica carinata A.Braun and it has an erucic acid content of less than 2 per cent by weight in relation to the total content of fatty acids in the oil, and a low content, between 1 and 7 per cent of the total fatty acids, of linolenic acid.
