VEHICLE MOUNTED ROLLER

A road rolling attachment for a vehicle is disclosed. The attachment consistsof a frame which ismounted to the vehicle, a roller supported by a axle, the axle being mountedto the frame suchthat the roller can rotate freely about a central axis. The roller has aelongated transverse beamcoaxially mounted to the axle with a first circular support plate coaxiallymounted adjacent thefirst end of the transverse beam and a second circular support plate coaxiallymounted adjacent tothe second end of the transverse beam. A number of pliable tires each havingside walls, anoutside diameter and a transverse diameter are mounted along the entire lengthof the beambetween the first and second support plates in adjoining coaxial alignment.The outside diameterof the tires is greater than then the outside diameters of the first andsecond support plates. Thenumber of tires, their transverse diameters, and the length of the transversebeam between thesupport plates are all selected, such that the support plates exert atransverse force against theside walls of the tires immediately adjacent to the support plates, themagnitude of the transverseforce selected to support the tires.
