The present invention relates to a novel mago nashi nucleic acid sequence fromthe chicken (genus Gallus). More specifically, relates to novel nucleic acidmolecules isolated from the chicken, and Mago proteins encoded by the isolatednucleic acids. the present invention is also directed to nucleic acid probesfor hybridization to the chicken mago nashi nucleic acid sequence, methods ofexpression thereof and methods to detect the mago nashi related nucleic acidsequences and the Mago protein products thereof.
