The invention relates to oligonucleotide probes used for the species-specificidentification of parodontophathogenic bacteria by in situ hybridization. Theinvention further relates to oligonucleotide probe compositions used toidentify said parodontopathogenic bacteria, to a method for reliablyidentifying parodontopathogenic bacteria in human samples from the oral regionand to kits for carrying out said methods.
