A storage and aligner device for split shot (64) of a preset nominal size, having a split (66) therein comprises a container (10) for the split shot, a knife edge (46) of profile capable of being received within the split (66) of the split shot (64), a retaining means such as an aperture (34) for keeping the split shot pellet in movable relationship adjacent a knife edge (46) and perturbing means (36,50) for causing vibration such as to cause a non-aligned split shot (64) to align itself with the split (66) engaging the knife edge (46), so that the split shot (64) passes through and beyond the aperture (34) to a pick-up or presentation station (30).
