PURPOSE: A human fibroblast growth factor receptor, FGFR5, preferentially expressed in pancreas is provided, which protein regulates the various processes of pancreas in vivo. CONSTITUTION: The cDNA of human fibroblast growth factor receptor, FGFR5 has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. An expression vector pCDNA3.1/Myc-His for mammal contains the cDNA of FGFR5 and a CMV promoter. A COS-7 cell is produced by transfection with the expression vector pCDNA3.1/Myc-His. The human fibroblast growth factor receptor, FGFR5, has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 and is prepared by using the transfected COS-7 cell.
