Cryodiluents and freezing method for preservation of deer semen and artificial insemination method using frozen semen for the promotion of deer reproductive efficiency

PURPOSE: A method for artificial insemination of deers by using a frozen conservative solution for deer sperm is provided. By this method, the conception rate of deers is increased because estrus and ovulation are generated in accordance with an artificial insemination time. CONSTITUTION: This frozen conservative solution for deer sperm comprises: a first diluted liquid containing 20%(v/v) egg yolk, 1.6%(w/v) glucose, 1.6%(w/v) fructose, 1.2% Tes-N-tris and 0.5% synthetic clarifiers, based on 100ml distilled water; and a second diluted liquid containing the first diluted liquid and one or more components selected from 16% glycerol, stag serum, pilose antler extracts, bovine serum albumin and heparin. The sperm of deers is diluted with the first diluted liquid in a ratio of 1:5 to 10, additionally diluted to give a final sperm concentration of 1.6 to 3.2x10¬8 sperm/ml and cooled. The cooled sperm is diluted with the second diluted liquid in a ratio of 1:1 and frozen.
