PURPOSE: Provided are a process for producing £14C|-N-formyl-lysine and a method for analyzing a glycated protein by using the £14C|-N-formyl-lysine, which can quantify the crosslinking degree of the glycated protein. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing £14C|-N-formyl-lysine comprises the steps of: dissolving L-lysine hydrochloric acid and 14C-L-lysine in formic acid and reacting with acetic anhydride; reacting the resultant with a potassium hydroxide solution and evaporating and filtering; eluting the extract to a cation exchange column and collecting and qualifying the N-formyl-lysine; crystallizing the collected liquid N-formyl-lysine. And the method for analyzing the glycated protein comprises the steps of: mixing a protein sample, a saccharide, diethylene triamine pentacetic acid, and the £14C|-N-formyl-lysine in a phosphoric acid buffer solution and filtering and culturing the mixed solution; taking the cultured solution and dropping on a filter paper and washing with trichloroacetic acid and then drying; measuring the dried mixture by a liquid scintillation calculator.
