FIELD: metallurgy, automotive industry, mechanical engineering, construction industry, deposition of coats on complexly profiled metal articles by way of their chemical and thermal treatment in powdery saturating media. SUBSTANCE: process includes cleaning of surfaces of articles, loading articles into drum, supply of saturating mixture into drum and deposition of coat by thermal diffusion saturation with subsequent cooling. Articles are treated in two drums as minimum. One drum is used for preparatory stage with supply of saturating mixture and holding of articles under excessive pressure, another drum is employed at second stage to deposit coat in gear of thermal diffusion saturation with reversible rotation of drum in vacuum at saturation temperature with simultaneous filtration of waste gases. Production line includes gears to grip and transfer articles, diffusion saturation gear which has leaktight drum of reversible rotation with heating. Production line is equipped with cleaning section, section of loading into drum and surface saturation under pressure, gear of thermal diffusion saturation fitted with enclosure-reflector of radiant energy, section o drum cooling and unloading section.
