Use of a combination of primers for the detection of pathogens of infectious diseases

Process for identification of microorganisms, especially infectious disease pathogens, comprises (1) performing a simultaneous amplification of several target sequences (multiplex polymerase chain reaction) in which a patient sample is contacted with a solution containing several primers and where a part of the sample has been subjected to a previous reverse transcription for only one RNA-possessing pathogen; (2) the PCR product is subjected to digoxigenin-labelling with selected probes corresponding to the primers; and (3) obtaining data on the presence of a microorganism (relating to the primer) by capture sample-evaluation and/or photometrically measurable colour value variation of the sample.
