The method involves detecting two mutually parallel accelerations at two separate fixed vehicle points (P0,P1) with a separation distance having a component perpendicular to the rotation axis. The accelerations are also parallel to the rotation axis and to the separating line. The angular acceleration is derived from the difference between the linear accelerations and the distance component perpendicular to the rotation axis.
