The window or door frame (14) is mounted floating in the recess (12) in the wall by mechanical slide pins or bolts (28, 30) which are fixed in the wall (10) and extend with sliding action into bores (24, 26) provided in the frame. The frame is aligned in the recess in the wall and then a hardening foam is added to the gaps between frame and recess.
