The method involves starting from a defined polygonal course on the digital map. The selected map information contains a route corridor depending on at least one parameter in addition to information defined by the polygonal course. The parameter can be used to make the selected map information tolerant of single errors or double errors. Independent claims are also included for the following: a navigation device.
