Contact elements are brought into contact with a recording surface. At least some of the contact elements, preferably all of them, are made of at least one wear-resistant material and/or are coated with a wear-resistant layer. The material may have a granular structure. The material may be an electrically conductive oxide and/or nitride, an alloy thereof or a noble intermetallic or metallic alloy, specifically iridium, rhenium, platinum, palladium and/or silver.
