E-mail reception notification method using television or radio, involves sending receiver-specific mail notification information to broadcasting station from Internet service provider

A server of the Internet service provider (2) sends a receiver-specific information indicating existence of unread e-mails for a particular user to a broadcasting station (3). The broadcasting station inserts the information to broadcast data stream and continuously transmits it to a digital receiver (4) e.g. TV or radio of the user. Optical or acoustic signal is output in the receiver, on receiving the notification information. An Independent claim is also included for e-mail reception notification system.
