PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a mail server to transmit an absence notice mail automatically, without requiring preset of the mail address for transmitting the absence notice, or the like, by a user.;SOLUTION: A mail server is composed of user information storage means for storing user information including a user mail address, an absence notice flag for replying an absence notice mail, and a mail transmission history of mails transmitted by a user, history update means for adding the destination mail address to the mail transmission history if the destination address of a mail transmitted by a user is not included in the mail transmission history within the user information, determination means for determining to reply an absence notice mail, upon reception of a mail, with reference to the absence notice flag in the user information matching the destination mail address of that mail and the mail transmission history, and reply means for replying an absence notice mail.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
