The door has an inner and an outer structure. Devices are provided to detect movement of the door columns (4) towards each other during a crash, and to connect the two door structures (7,8), passing through the window channel. The devices consist of a displaceable horizontal bar (11), which supports itself on one door column during a crash, and a pivoted hook (12) held on one of the door structures. The hook engages into a holder (14) in the other door structure during a crash, and breaks the door window glass (10).
