A control signal (ladkup) is output to abruptly close coupling when value of gradient (fpgrad) for drive pedal position (fp) exceeds a preset threshold (FWDYN) of a fixed value (LKDYN). The control signal is brought from the initial starting value to maximum value of gradient for drive pedal position to completely close coupling when preset threshold is low before starting ramp function. The controllable coupling has a coupling component that is influenced by the control signal based on the load of an internal combustion engine to connect and switch OFF a mechanical charger. The mechanical charger is arranged in the suction tract of the internal combustion engine which connected to a drive over the coupling.
