The method involves hydraulically coupling a control area with a low pressure area by a control valve. An actuating drive of injectors is controlled in such a manner, that the valve is moved from its closing position to reduce pressure in a fluid-high pressure accumulator. Control pulses that are generated for the drive are varied before generating additional control pulses for the actuating drive of additional injectors. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling of an internal combustion engine.
