The method involves projecting at least one line pattern in different phase orientations successively onto the object. The brightness of the points on the object surface to be measured are determined and evaluated for determining the space coordinates. An absolute phase is determined at at least one time point and a dynamic determination of raw phases with limited unambiguousness is carried out continuously at other time points. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) Projector for carrying out the method (b) Arrangement using the projector and a camera for determining the brightness of the object surface points
