The painting booth has a suction device to remove excess coating material. The suction device has a separator unit (10,20) for wet coating and dry coating. These are connected via a flow path to a common suction unit (30) in such a way, that only one of the separator unit is located in the flow path at any one time. The separator unit (10) for wet coating has a first flow path, which is switched from storage filters (12,13) to a clean air outlet (32) of the suction unit, bypassing a cleaning filter (22).
