The booth is for spray painting and powder coating of metal workpieces (5). During spray painting, the device forms a complete, conventional spray booth (0) with spray mist precipitation. For powder coating, a suction system (11) is incorporated into the booth, and connected to a powder recovery device (13). This recovers excess powder, and returns it to the coating process, in a complete circuit. During powder coating, fresh air (1) and waste air ventilator (9) are partially or completely switched off, to create optimum air conditions in the booth. A connection channel/tube (12) contains a quick-acting slide or flame trap, as a safety device. Most parts may consist of smooth synthetic, and/or stainless steel, for self-cleaning.
