An arrangement for taking projection mammograms comprises two X-ray anodes which are made of different materials and respectively possess emission energies at most 3.5 keV below and above the absorption energy of the element serving as a contrast enhancing agent. An Independent claim is also included for an application of a parenteral contrast enhancing agent for production of a diagnostic means for projection mammography. It involves use of the X-ray anodes in turn to take two mammograms, and subsequent superpositioning of the latter.
