The method involves sampling the speed of the blood flow through a coronary sinus of the patient's heart (8) and generating a pacemaker (10) pulse as a function of the sampled speed. A parameter of the pacemaker pulse can also be as a function of the blood flow signal. The parameter can be varied to set the integral of the blood flow signal to a target value.
