Inner lining of a blast furnace jacket (1) consists of flat copper and/or steel cooling sheets (4) with a cast aluminum layer (3) arranged between the sheets and the jacket to form a mechanical connection. Preferred Features: The cooling sheets are trapezoidal in shape. The individual layers of the cooling sheets are arranged in an annular manner over each other in the furnace so that no vertical running joints are formed.
