Production of an elongated hollow body comprises producing a basic body (5) having a hollow chamber (6) from sheet metal, followed by deformation of the basic body using an internal high pressure deformation process allowing controlled material flow to produce a fixed flange (7). The basic body is made by roller profiling. Preferred Features: A single flange is formed along the longitudinal extension of the basic body during its production. Individual flange sections are formed by different material flows.
