Production of a hollow body (6) comprises shaping a hollow body blank (3) in a forming tool (2) using an internal high pressure forming process to produce the hollow body. At least one hole (19) is cut out of a wall (5) of the hollow body using a piercing punch (7). At least one bracket (21) is cut out of the wall using a clipping punch (8). The hole and the bracket are positioned relative to each other so that the bracket contains the hole. The hollow body with the perforated bracket is removed from the forming tool. An independent claim is also included for a device used in the production of a hollow body.
