The implant shank (1), designed for fixing with or without cement, has at least one groove (3) with a discontinuous lengthwise surface in its proximal section (2). Each groove lies parallel to the axis (D) of the shank and is made with two or more portions (5) of similar length but with different depths, varying between 0.1 and 1 mm. The distal end of each groove portion is rounded and projects relative to the proximal end of the adjacent portion.
