The section is made up of two parts (1,2) fabricated from sheet metal. The outer part (1) contains five folds, two external (A1,A1') and three internal (A2,A2',A3). The inner part (2) has one fold (A4). The folds (A3,A4) of the inner and outer parts are of the same angle which may vary from 90 to 180 degrees. The two parts are joined at their edges by welding or gluing to form a rigid box section. To allow for the variation in thickness of paneling (4), the distance between the folds (A1,A2) in the outer part can be altered to suit during the folding operation. Corner gusset plates (5,7) one internal the other external are employed at the joint between vertical and horizontal sections to give added stiffness.
