A purpose built joiner's work bench (1) comprising of an underframe (2) and a worktop (3) fixed to the upper part of the underframe. The worktop is made up of two tubular beams (8) joined to two cross pieces (11). The width to the worktop can be increased by the provision of two extending arms (14) comprising of sectional bars (13) which can slide inside the tubular beams (8).
