Hinge axle (5) is slidably mounted in slot (11) parallel to tabletop (1). Lock is formed by safety pin (8) in hinge axle mounting (6) and extending parallel to axle and capable of engaging with cavities (9) in bearing housing (4) when worktop is in one of its two end positions. The cavities extend in slot length direction on either side of slot, and are open towards abutment edge (7) of tabletop. The worktop can be rotated through 180 degrees and has a mounting bracket on its underside for a hinge axle that is received in the region of the abutment edge of the tabletop by a bearing housing (4) on the tabletop underside.
