The sled, consisting of a wood or plastic body (12) with runners (16) and a seat, has deployable wheels (20, 22) for use on ground where there is no snow, connected to a mechanism (18) for deploying and retracting them. The wheels are fitted to front and rear axles (24, 26) which engage with notches (28B, 30B) in the sled body when deployed.
