Production of very fine particles containing at least one active agent (I) and formed from an assembly of molecular complexes each consisting of (I) inserted into a host molecule by dissolving (I) and the host in solvents and contacting with a supercritical fluid. Production of very fine particles containing at least one active agent (I) and formed from an assembly of molecular complexes each consisting of (I) inserted into a host molecule by dissolving (I) and the host in solvents and contacting with a supercritical fluid. (I) is dissolved in a first solvent and the host molecule in a second. Both solvents may be the same. The two solutions are contacted with a supercritical fluid in such a way as to precipitate the host molecules by anti-solvent effect. The residual solvents are extracted by the supercritical fluid and recovered and the particles are recovered and dried to a powder. Alternatively the supercritical fluid may be used as the solvent for the principle, preferably by saturating with the principle by passing through a bed of particles of it. This and the contacting with the second solution can be achieved as a one-stage process. An Independent claim is included for an apparatus for production of the particles. The apparatus consists of an atomization chamber (1) equipped in its upper part with means for spraying which are by the two solutions and the supercritical fluid and in its lower part with means for recovering the product and for removing the supercritical fluid which is then passed to a means of separation, especially a cyclonic means and ultimately to a reservoir for reuse. The spraying system is an injector valve which contains an internal collector volume which is fed by three input channels.
