Inhibiting expression of target gene, useful e.g. for treating cancer, by infecting cells with sequences encoding sense and antisense RNA homologous with the target

Method for inhibiting expression of a target gene (I) in cells or tissue by infection with separate viral particles (VP) that contain single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) that express sense and antisense RNA, both containing sequences homologous with a part of (I). An Independent claim is also included for a kit containing both types of VP that produce complementary RNAs so that, in a cell or tissue, they form a double-stranded RNA that interferes with expression of (I).
