PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PVC blend having high heat resistance and high cost performance, and further to provide a monomer and a polymer for forming the PVC blend.;SOLUTION: 3,5-Bis[4-[(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenyl) carbonyl]phenoxy]-4'- hydroxybenzophenone or 3,5-difluoro-4'-hydroxybenzophenone is subjected to self polycondensation, and 50-80 mol% of fluorine atoms present at the terminal unit and the linear unit of the molecular chain is substituted with a polar group to provide the objective polyether ketone(PEK). The PVC blend having the high cost performance in a use requiring the heat resistance, such as a pipe for warm water piping can readily be produced in a commercial scale by melt- blending the polyether ketone with the PVC at 180-210°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
