PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open system of process control which permits the system to be changed easily at a low cost, while providing excellent capability for reusability and expansion property.;SOLUTION: The I/O box 2 provided between each device of control target equipment 1 which is connected to signal input/output terminals of I/O card 4 and a personal computer 5, converts signals to generate standardized signals. In the memory 6, the following: connecting status between the signal input/ output terminals which is defined with addresses of signal input/output terminals and each device, a database which fixes control condition, etc., and picture data for displaying equipment layout: are stored in several sets by the type of control target equipment 1, and picture data for displaying terminal layout is also stored.
