PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a box-shaped cross section steel column material with a built-in diaphragm suppressing toughness lowering due to large input heat by using electro-slug welding effective in reduction of a manufacturing cost and prevention of occurrence of welding defect.;SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the box-shaped cross section steel column material with the built-in diaphragm, a bracket for beam and flange joining is welded and joined to the outside surface of a box-shaped cross section steel column prior to welded joining of the diaphragm to the inside of the box-shaped cross section steel column. Thereafter, the diaphragm is joined by using an electro-slug welding method through a small welding hole in the box-shaped cross section steel column.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
